P. S. — No Electrode should be used the second time without having been perfectly
cleansed. This is done for the sponges, in the first place, by warm water and soap ;
then rinse and pass them through dilute chloride of sodium, or dilute muriatic acid,
say one part of the chloride or acid to ten parts of water; then rinse them again,
when they will be sweet as new.
